The whole conversation, one text at a time.
This is every message a community-service volunteer sends and receives, in order. After it is the shorter path for a regular volunteer, who never sends a photo or a pin.

Welcome
From your organization, or the assistant if she texts first.
Menu
Every command in one reply.
Own day
“signup my own day” and a time.
Sign in and out
Photos and a pin for community-service hours.
The first text.
If she already signed up on the web for community-service hours, she gets a welcome. Organizations can rewrite it.
If she texts first and the number is unknown, the assistant asks for her organization.
A returning volunteer gets: “Welcome back, Maya! I’m your volunteer assistant. Send “menu” for commands or “events” to see upcoming events.”
Scheduling her own day.
A regular volunteer gets the same confirmation, ending with: When you arrive, text “sign in”. When you’re done, text “sign out” to complete your session.
Signing in.
If she texts “skip” instead of sending a pin: “You’re signed in! When you’re finished, text “sign out” to complete your session.”
A regular volunteer texts “sign in” and is signed in immediately. No photo, no pin.
Signing out.
Hours are set when the sign-out photo arrives. The pin after that is optional and does not change the hours.
If she texts “skip”: “All set! Session: 9:04 AM – 11:22 AM (2 hours 18 minutes). Completed without location verification.”
A regular volunteer texts “sign out” and gets the session line and a thank-you in one reply. No photo.
What the organization keeps.
After a completed first visit, the assistant can later text her a return-visit offer.
